Dear Members (and potential members),
As you may be aware Purton is one of the oldest clubs in the country and last year celebrated its 200th year in existence. To mark this bicentenary the club has arranged a friendly match with the MCC.
The match will take place at Purton on Sunday 29th August and will be the centrepiece of a day of fun at the club. We want to make this day even more successful than the 6-a-side tournament that many of you made so special, earlier in the year.
During the day we there will be games and competitions for the children to participate in, both on and off the field. There will be stalls, a BBQ and bar throughout the day so there is no need to bring food but of course picnics are welcomed. After the match has ended there will be a hog roast in the evening, and we will round off the day by laying on some live music too.
We can’t wait to welcome as many of you as possible to the event and with your help it will be a fantastic family day out. Together we can make this a great celebration as we come close to the end of a great summer of cricket at the club.
There will be a limited number of tickets available and so we ask that you reserve them early. If you wish to reserve your tickets, please indicate how many adult tickets you require and how many children you intend to bring by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
To cover the costs of bands and marquees the cost for adults will be £10 but free for your children. If we don’t sell sufficient tickets during this round to our members, we will offer them out to a wider audience. Access is always a problem so we will make a £5 charge for parking all day, as space is very limited, and we hope to discourage too much traffic.
